About
Yasin Ahmed Razak
I am a licensed lawyer and a notary public in the Province of Ontario. I opened my own law firm to provide highly tailored services to suit my clients' needs and to work towards the best possible outcome for my clients.
I work primarily in the field of immigration and refugee law, with a focus on refugee claims, attending hearings before the Immigration and Refugee Board, and drafting appeals to both the Federal Court and the Refugee Appeal Division. I have successfully represented numerous clients from around the world, including those who have been exclusively funded by Legal Aid Ontario, and helped them to become recognised as Convention refugees or protected persons in Canada.
Prior to working in immigration and refugee law, I trained in-house with the Law Society of Ontario as part of my work placement in the Law Practice Program of Ryerson University. I have also held a variety of non-legal positions, particularly within large, multi-national corporations, enabling me to have a wider world-view.
I grew up in the United Kingdom and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from King's College London, University of London. After migrating to Canada, I enrolled at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law, and York University's Osgoode Hall, attending both universities concurrently as part of the accreditation process.
I speak French, German, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi, to varying degrees, and can assist clients of all languages and dialects with the aid of interpreters.
With a broad range of experience and proactive approach, I work with my clients to ensure successful results and long-lasting relationships.
